February

Carnival Fever

In Malta

The February gloom is swept aside and joyously replaced by carnival fever in Malta, where a cacophonous riot of colour, rhythmic sounds and jubilant parades fill the streets.

Observe the gaiety while perched at an espresso bar or shimmy along with the locals and shake away those wintry blues.

What's on

Carnival

The epicenter of all the excitement is set within the core of the capital, Valletta. Thrill seekers and avid carnival fans can also catch a ferry to Gozo for a macabre interpretation of carnival.

On whichever island you find yourself on, do seek to sample a morsel of ‘prinjulata’, a frosted dome-shaped carnival confection.

Hotel of the Month

La Falconeria

Everybody’s heard of the Maltese Falcon, though did you know that the Knights of the Order of St. John were required to send a single falcon, annually, to Charles V of Spain – King of Sicily, who ruled Malta in the 16th Century?

This pristine hotel is located on the same historical street where these prized falcons were bred, trained and kept. Situated in the heart of the glorious capital of Malta, La Falconiera offers its guests forty-three rooms split into seven different categories. All rooms are finished to the highest standards with traditional Maltese tiled floors and in-room complimentary facilities to really make you feel at home.

Guests can also enjoy the true tastes of the Mediterranean in the in-house restaurant L’Artiglio or relax and unwind in the hotel fitness room and heated indoor pool.
